Support for Film Shooters

For over six years, our Shootout has been educating film shooters and we're not about to stop now. Even though we've gone digital,we have a packed schedule of film related seminars and support. Take advantage of this opportunity to learn new skills and get expert coaching from professional photographers. Bring along your film rigs and we'll get you dialed in.

E6 Processing:
Nothing is worse than coming home from a great dive vacation only to find that your highly anticipated photos are nothing but... well, let's just say not what you expected. Bring your slide film and take advantage of daily E6 processing. Simply drop off your film after a dive and examine your results within a few hours. Not only will you know exactly how your doing, our staff will be able to help you while you still remember what you did!

Pro Critique:
Now with film in hand, sit down a spend a little time with our pro staff. Stephen Frink of Rodales and Berkley White of Backscatter will help you work out the bugs and get you on your way to successful shooting. Take this opportunity to try new techniques and allow the pros to give you personalized guidance. Sit down sessions are scheduled at each resort.

Try Digital:
You've probably already thought of it. If I was shooting digital, I wouldn't even need E6 processing and I would be seeing my results while I'm still underwater. Maybe you're just not sure if making the switch is worth the disadvantages. Well here's a perfect opportunity to test out the world of digital. Sign up for one of the Digital Demo Days with the staff from Light & Motion and see for yourself. With all of these digital cameras running around, there is no better time to discuss the issue with fellow photographers
.

Photography Seminars:
Don't let your camera come between you and a good photo, take control with a few simple techniques. Learn the essential skills of composition, exposure bracketing, background metering, and strobe placement. Regardless of your persuasion, film or digital, these are the fundamental principals of creating beautiful images. Berkley White of Backscatter will take you step by step through the process with simple techniques that will give you the freedom to create rather than just frustrate.
Photoshop Seminars:
Regardless if your an emulsion fan or a pixel person, Adobe Photoshop is undeniably the most powerful imaging tool around. If you're planning to scan your archive of film into the more easily shared and printable format of digital, you will undoubtedly need Photoshop to correct and adjust your scans. Our team from Adobe Systems will walk you step by step through the process of maximizing your scan potential and even show you how to bring life back to a shot that was almost perfect. See seminar listings for more details.
